Getting started
What do I need to get started?
An account and a resume. You upload your career history once, and that becomes the profile everything else is built from. There is no way to try it without signing up right now.
What file types can I upload?
Word (.docx) or PDF, up to 10 MB.
Why does it want my whole career history, not just one resume?
Because tailoring can only select from what you have written down. Your profile is a superset: every role, every bullet, every number, including the ones you would normally cut. Each tailored resume is then drawn from it. A thin profile produces thin tailored resumes no matter how good the tool is, which is why adding a second or third old resume usually helps more than any other single thing you can do.
Can I add more than one resume?
Yes. Uploading another resume does not overwrite anything. It is compared against what you already have and you are shown every proposed change before a single one is applied: what is new, what is a duplicate, and where the new wording carries more detail than the old. Merging costs no credits. Uploads are capped at 5 a month on the free plan and 25 on a paid one.
Can I paste a link to a job posting instead of the text?
For some sites. Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters and Recruitee links can be fetched directly. Everywhere else, paste the posting text and it works exactly the same. We do not try to scrape sites that do not want to be scraped.
What the AI can and cannot do
Will it invent experience I do not have?
No, and this is enforced in code rather than by asking the model nicely. Every bullet in a tailored resume has to point back to a specific bullet in your profile. One that does not is rejected and regenerated, and anything still unsourced after that is stripped before you ever see it. Numbers have to already appear in your profile, and companies have to already exist in it. This is the part of the product we are least willing to compromise on.
So what does tailoring actually change?
Three things: which bullets appear and which are cut, what order things go in, and how a bullet is phrased so it foregrounds what this posting cares about. It can adopt the posting's vocabulary where your profile already supports it, so "led a team of 4" can become "managed a team of 4". It cannot turn that into "managed a department".
Can I see exactly what it changed?
Yes, by default rather than behind a click. Every tailored bullet is shown against the original it came from, so you can check the rewording before you send it anywhere. If anything was cut, it says what and why.
What if I am a weak match for the job?
It will tell you. The match analysis marks each requirement as covered, a stretch, or absent, and absent means absent. It will not talk up a gap to make the page feel better. You still get a complete, honest resume, just one that does not oversell the fit. Whether a posting is worth applying to is your call, not the tool's.
What is the ideal candidate section? Is that a resume I can use?
No, and it is deliberately not downloadable. It describes a hypothetical strong candidate for the posting so you can see what the target actually looks like, and it is labelled as AI-written on the page. It is never added to your profile and never appears in anything you export. It is there to show you the gap, not to help you claim it.
It asked me questions about my experience. Why?
Because the most common reason a profile looks weak is that real work never got written down. If you ran a warehouse you have probably handled an outage, but your resume may not say so. The questions are the AI asking, not answering: whatever you type is stored exactly as you wrote it, in your words. The model never supplies the fact, which is the only reason it is safe to let those answers become part of your profile.
Can it write a resume for me from nothing?
No. Without a profile there are no facts to select from, and inventing them is the one thing the product is built not to do. If you are starting from nothing, write a rough resume first, however unpolished, and upload that.
Which AI is behind it?
Claude, from Anthropic. Reading a job posting uses a small fast model; extracting your profile, judging the match, tailoring, and writing cover letters use a larger one. All of it runs on our servers, never in your browser.
Should I just send whatever it produces?
No. Read it first. The tool is good at selecting and rephrasing what you already did, and it shows its working so you can check it, but you are the one who knows whether a bullet lands. Treat it as a strong first draft that you own, not a finished document.
Credits and plans
What uses a credit?
One credit is one tailored resume, one cover letter, or one regeneration. Reading a job posting is free. So is the match analysis, the gap check, and merging a second resume into your profile. You are only charged when a document is produced.
How many credits do I get?
3 a month on the free Intern plan, 100 on Associate, and 500 on Manager. A resume plus a cover letter for the same job is 2 credits. See pricing for the full comparison.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. The count resets at the start of each calendar month, so an unused allowance does not accumulate.
Does paying more mean the AI is allowed to say more?
No. Every plan runs the same honesty rules. A paid plan buys you more documents, not a model with looser standards about your experience.
Your documents
What can I download?
PDF, Word, and plain text, in any of seven templates. The preview you see is the actual file you get, not an approximation of it.
Why would I want the plain text version?
For application forms with a "paste your resume" box. A PDF pasted into one of those arrives empty and a Word file arrives as markup. The text version drops all styling on purpose and is written to survive the least capable parser on the other end.
Are my finished resumes stored somewhere?
The files are not. What is saved is the tailored content, and the PDF or Word file is built fresh in your browser each time you download it. That is also why changing the template is instant: nothing has to be regenerated.
Tracking, privacy, and data
What does the application tracker do?
It records an application the moment you generate something for a job, so there is nothing to remember to log. You move it through the stages yourself. Anything you applied to and have not touched in 21 days is marked as ghosted automatically, because unanswered applications are the ones people forget they are still waiting on.
Who can see my profile?
You. Access is enforced at the database, not just in the app, so every query is scoped to the account that owns the row. Your resume is sent to Anthropic's API to generate your documents; Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through that API. Our privacy policy has the detail.
How do I delete my account and my data?
Email us through the contact form and we will delete it. There is no self-serve delete button yet, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
